Click Attendance > Absent Notes > Manage types.
Step two: create custom absence type

Click New Absent Note Type.
Name the codetype.
Step three: choose settings

Select Attendance code…
Select Yes to allow parents to use the codeit.
Step four: save & close
Click Add.
The new absence note type will be automatically enabled and usable by parents.
Step five:

disable the absence type
...
(optional)
If an absent note type is not to be used any longer, it can be disabled.
Click 🔽 >Enable> Disable.
