Student attendance is recorded in two ways:

By teachers logged into their uEducateUs account on classroom computer or other device;

Attendance codes are used to calculate attendance statistics for the school.

They are automatically updated for schools using the EduHub Sync and Cases21.

Attendance codes have the following settings:

  • Enabled - code is available for all classes

  • Ignored - code is not counted toward attendance statistics

Administrators can also enable or disable the following student attendance states for the code:

  • Present

  • Unexplained absence

  • Late arrival

  • Early departure

View attendance codes

  • Click Attendance > Attendance Codes.

Create attendance code

  • Click ➕

  • Name the code and give it a brief description.

  • Enable the code and whether it contributes to attendance statistics.

  • Choose the different attendance states the code can have:

    • Present

    • Unexplained absence

    • Late arrival

    • Early departure

  • Click Save when finished.

Edit attendance code

Warning

Editing an attendance code can have unexpected consequences for attendance reporting

  • Click 🔽 > Edit for the code.

  • Make your changes.

  • Click Save when finished.

Delete attendance code

Warning

An attendance code cannot be deleted if it has been used to mark attendance.

Administrators will need to change any student attendance that uses the code before it can be deleted.

  • Click 🔽 > Delete for the code.

  • Click Delete.

Set default attendance codes

Default attendance codes can be set for specific events. They can be changed by teachers for the student if required.

  • Click Default attendance codes.

  • Choose the default code for each attendance event.

    • Present

    • Absent

    • Late

    • Sick

    • Event

    • Holidays

    • Explained absence

  • Click Save when finished.

Delete attendance marked outside student entry/exit dates

Attendance > More > Maintenance

Student record has entry and exit dates. These are basically attendance marking before a student started attending the school, or after they left.

Delete attendance records for students not yet or no longer attending school
