Samsung S8 and S9 troubleshooting guide

Operating System: Android 10
There is a current bug with devices running Android 10. This includes Samsung S10, S10+ and S10e family as well as any older devices that have received updates to Android 10.
These devices currently do not display push notifications.
Scenario 1: Not receiving any notifications
If you have installed the uEducateUs app and are not receiving any notifications at all, first check to ensure that they are enabled.
Settings
Navigate to your phone settings from your top drop menu or tap your settings icon.
The *Settings* page will open.
Notification Settings
Tap Notifications to access your phones Notification settings.
Check to ensure you have the following settings enabled

Ensure that the uEducateUs application is also listed in your Most recent list.
If not, change the criteria to Show All and confirm that the app notifications are indeed enabled.
Status Bar
Status bar settings apply to the number of notifications that will be listed when you view the status bar

Holding your finger on the uEducateUs App icon will give you access to the App info. Tap the App info icon to open App info for the uEducateUs app.
Tap the App info icon to open App info for the uEducateUs app.
Scroll down if necessary to locate Notifications and tap on it
Within the uEducateUs App info screen, navigate to Notifications, listed under the App settings heading and ensure that the following notifications are enabled.

Scenario 2: Not receiving notifications when the uEducateUs app is closed.
Battery Optimisations
There is also the possibility that the battery optimisation feature is not allowing any background applications from receiving push notifications.
To disable battery optimisation feature for just the uEducateUs app, you need to complete the following process.
Open your phone settings from either the top pull down menu or via the setting icon.
From the Settings menu, select Apps
The Apps screen lists all the applications installed on your phone depending on the drop down filter criteria. Tap the three vertical dots (vertical ellipsis) to open the menu to select Special access
Access the Optimise battery usage settings listed in the Special menu. Update the search filter to show All and locate the uEducateUs app from the list. You need to disable this feature for the uEducateUs app.
These settings apply to troubleshooting a Samsung Galaxy S8 or equivalent. If you have a Samsung device that is on a different version or build, then the above options may or may not be available.
